About Maddie
I'm here to hold a safe space for both your visible wounds and the very edge of your expression.
As a first-generation descendant of refugees and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners, Maddie Lam integrates ancient wisdom with modern bodywork and birth work. She weaves Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and contemporary trauma-informed psycho-somatic frameworks into the power of healing touch.

Her mission as a bodyworker and birth doula is to help clients restore a sense of safety in their bodies, reconnect with their innate wholeness, and cultivate a deeper relationship with the larger body: Mother Earth. With deep presence, her work offers birthers, women, queer folxs, women of color, and trauma survivors an opportunity for healing, integration, and new ways of creating home in their bodies. Rooted in her own history of healing deep trauma, she has found and developed a modern praxis with ancient roots to help her clients shed old shells and embody new space. Maddie is based in the Boston area.

Education & Certifications
I am a professionally trained birth doula and licensed massage therapist. I hold a Bachelor's degree where I researched how embodiment is a path to liberation.
Experience
Specializations
With over fourteen years of experience holding compassionate, trauma-informed space for healing and transformation, my work weaves together bodywork, birth support, somatic practice, and social justice.
As a somatic practitioner at Walden Behavioral Care, I support individuals healing from eating disorders through body-centered awareness and nervous system regulation. My work has also included developing a racial healing and mindfulness program with Ivy Child International and serving as an Artist-in-Residence at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, where I explored the intersection of creativity, embodiment, and collective care.
Alongside my therapeutic work, I have guided transformational wilderness experiences with Deva Soul Journeys, consulted on racial equity initiatives for LEAP for Education, and offered therapeutic massage for professional athletes.
As a birth doula at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, I have had the profound honor of supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the tender threshold of new life. Across all of my work, I am devoted to creating grounded, nurturing spaces where people can reconnect with their bodies, access their innate wisdom, and experience care that is both deeply personal and transformative.

Approach
My work is hands-on, attuned, and integrative. I draw from trauma-informed somatic practice, myofascial bodywork, and intuitive listening to support healing in the body and nervous system. Whether in the treatment room or the birth space, my intention is to create a supportive environment where people feel encouraged, empowered, and able to access their own innate capacity for transformation.

“I woke up and my knees are feeling more relief than they have in months. The last time they felt like this my dad had visited me from the other side and helped heal them for an evening. Thank you so much, Maddie words can’t explain how grateful I am to you.”
